The Setas de Sevilla Light Show: What You Need to Know

Light and sound shows are trending in major tourist cities: they provide an interesting counterpoint to a day that, during daylight hours, may be filled with cultural visits or moments of relaxation. And Seville is no exception: such an offering could not be missing in the Andalusian capital. This refers to the Setas de Sevilla light show. In this post, we tell you everything you need to know about it: where it takes place, at what time, and what can be seen.

What is the Setas de Sevilla Light Show?

The Setas de Sevilla light show is called Aurora and illuminates this highly original structure every night. It is, by the way, an icon of contemporary art in the Andalusian capital: named Metropol Parasol, it is a large pergola of fluid forms made of wood and concrete, designed by the German Jürgen Mayer.

With Aurora, the entire structure is illuminated with rhythmic colored lights, creating a magical spectacle that changes every night and every moment. It is, as the promoters themselves acknowledge, a tribute to the light of Seville, which is so special at all times of the year.

When are the Setas de Sevilla illuminated?

In reality, the Setas de Sevilla light show operates continuously throughout the night, until the facility closes. That is to say, it is continuous, looping illumination. In any case, the general opening hours of the venue can be taken as a reference:

  • From 9:30 AM to 12:00 AM (midnight) in winter season (November to March)
  • From 9:30 AM to 12:30 AM in summer season (April to October)

Other Information: Price and How to Get There

To enjoy the Setas de Sevilla light show, you will need to purchase a ticket called ‘Immersive Night Experience,’ priced at €15 (as of May 2022, subject to change), with a family promotion of €40 in total. This price includes not only the Aurora show but also other services.

Specifically, it offers the opportunity to enjoy the Viewpoint at night, which provides unique views of the Sevillian skyline, with some of its illuminated temples, such as the nearby Church of the Annunciation and the more distant Cathedral, with its unparalleled Giralda. It also includes an explanatory app and WiFi connection, as well as ‘Feeling Sevilla,’ a ‘multi-sensory’ experience with projections inside the venue.

Furthermore, it is worth clarifying that in the subsoil of this space is the Antiquarium Hall, a Roman archaeological site with temporary exhibition rooms. However, a visit to the Antiquarium is not included in this ticket, as it is a space managed by the City Council, with separate admission.

To get here, you have several options, primarily the urban bus: the two lines with stops nearby are Line 27 and Line 32. And if you wish for our agency to plan this experience as part of a broader travel package, please contact us: we will provide private transport and manage ticket acquisition, among other services.
